This was one of the best workshop days we’ve had in a long time.
The sun was shining and we had the right number of very keen Stickmakers.

Charlie Walker, Brian Waters and Kevin Moody were the first to arrive, quickly followed by Moira Powell and Tim Elliott.
We were pleased to see David Batchelor again after his recent hospitalisation and the last to arrive was fellow woodcarver Bob Watton.

Kevin Moody came armed with a supply of buffalo horns and Brian had his horn bending equipment with him. Together they managed to ruin several horns, the only successful one was mine, which came out of a box of bits in my garage.

There was a lot of friendly banter and Brian came in for some "stick" as he seemed to have forgotten some vital bits of kit. It turns out that Brian bends mainly rams horn and wasn’t really prepared for the buffalo horns of Kevin’s.

Every one of us learned something throughout the day and we all enjoyed Moira’s coffee and walnut cake.

It was a very useful day and we all enjoyed ourselves so much that nobody left before late in the afternoon.

Thanks to all who attended and made it worthwhile.
