Tim Morgan a self confessed Decoy Duck enthusiast visits one of our meetings to to teach us how to carve duck heads for sticks. Tim is a wildfowler who uses the decoys while duck shooting from his punt in the marshes. He has dozens, all faithfully representing the breed, male and female, all carefully weighted and balanced to "swim" properly when in the water.

wittling duck heads getting the hang of the flexi-drive

After our theory lesson on how to mark out the head with centre-lines and datum points, It was our turn later to use the power carving flexi-drive fitted with the very agressive burrs. Tim returned again and visited Ringwood Woodcarvers until we had all got the hang of it.
